The portable cross

The Portable Cross

On a trip to Louisiana State Prison in Angola, Manny Mill saw his vision of a portable cross come true right before his eyes thanks to inmate Donald Wright. And even though he experienced a few pinched fingers at first, it was immediately put to good use when he shared the Gospel message and the centrality of the Cross of Jesus through America's largest maximum security prison.

The portable Cross/Pulpit, made of oak and carried in a special cart bag, will now go everywhere Manny goes - from Angola to Danville, IL to Olney Baptist Church in Philadelphia. It will not only proclaim the Cross of Christ, which cannot be divorced from the Gospel, but also promote the great and effective work being done in Angola under the capable and righteous leadership of Warden Burl Cain.

Having this wonderful, functional, work of art is a visual symbol of the genuine love, which fuels us with much more passion for the Cross of Jesus Christ, from which our true joy flows and our unity really counts!

1 Corinthians 1:18 (NIV) For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are saved it is the power of God.
